Meet the Mildebrandts
This coming summer we will have two new teachers joining the St. Paul’s family who will lead our school.  Paul Mildebrandt will serve as our principal and upper grade teacher, and his wife, Katie, will be our lower grade teacher.

Paul attended Peace Lutheran School in Green Lake, Wisconsin, and attended Winnebago Lutheran Academy (WLA) in Fond Du Lac, WI., graduating 1994.  Paul was involved in cross country, track, and wrestling at WLA.

After graduating from Martin Luther College in May of 2000, Paul was assigned to teach fifth and sixth grades and to be athletic director at Zion Lutheran in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.  In 2015, he received the call to teach upper grades at Christ Lutheran School in Eagle River, Wisconsin.  While living in the Northwoods, he has enjoyed coaching grade school, high school and club volleyball teams and he has also refereed volleyball and basketball.  Paul also enjoys training and running in mud runs and spending time with my family.

Katie (Kathleen) grew up in Marshall, MN (so yes, she is a Vikings fan!).  After attending the Lutheran grade school there, she attended Martin Luther Prep School and graduated in 1995.  During her years at MLC, she took two semesters off to study and nanny in Germany.  After graduating, her first call was to California Lutheran High School.  She loved her two years being "dorm mom" to 36 students while teaching and coaching.  After the Mildebrandts married in 2002, Katie worked retail until receiving the K4/K5 call to Christ in Eagle River.  She taught there until being called to teach preschool at Zion in Rhinelander.  She loves her mornings with her "littles" and has enjoyed teaching several departmentalized classes for the 5-8 grades in the afternoon during this 2016/17 school year.  In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with the two boys.

Drew(Andrew) is 10 and in the 4th grade.  He loves all things sports and can tell you an amazing amount about professional sports and athletes.  He collects trading cards and books to read, and we are not sure which one he loves more!  Drew has played on soccer, volleyball and basketball teams and is eager to play at St. Paul's. Football is his favorite sport of all and he is excited to be able to watch Uncle Mark coach the St. Croix Crusaders again this fall (2017/18).

Maxwell (Max) is 8 and in the 2nd grade.  He loves sports too, and works hard to keep up with his big brother.  He is the family’s resident hugger, who loves to snuggle in and read books together.  He's a huge fan of anything Wii, but would rather play ping pong or go bowling for real.  Although mom and dad do not know how, Max is a Rams fan.  They say, “It fits his personality to be totally different than the rest!”  Both boys are Lego builders who are also huge American Ninja Warrior fans, and can't wait until they are old enough to do the mud runs with their dad!

The Christian family at St. Paul’s Lutheran welcomes them both and we look forward to ministry in Cannon Falls.
